Tracking page

The tracking page is a page on your own domain. The customer types the email address and the order number from the confirmation email, clicks Track order and sees the live status from the courier. The links in your emails point to this page, not to the courier.

Customers do not need an account.

Go to Shipments > Tracking page.

Use an existing page. Pick it under Tracking page and click Save. The tracking form is added under the page’s own content.

Create a new page. Fill in the Create a new page panel:

  1. Title: the default is “Track your order”.

  2. Address: the part after your domain. The default is track-order.

  3. Click Create page. The plugin publishes the page with the tracking form and selects it.

You can also put the form anywhere with the shortcode:

[brl_st_tracking]

It works in any page or block.

On the same screen:

  • Heading: the title above the form. Default: “Track your order”.
  • Text above the form: one sentence telling the customer what to type. Default: “Enter the email address and order number from your confirmation email.”
  • Full history (every courier scan / position): shows the full list of scans under the status. Off shows only the last step.
  • Support email (optional): shown under the status, so a customer with a problem writes to you, not to the courier. It starts with your WooCommerce “From” address. Leave it empty to hide it.
  • Support phone (optional): shown next to the support email.

After a successful lookup, the page shows the order number and date, then one block per tracking number:

  • The current status, with a coloured dot. See Statuses for the list.
  • The Courier and the Tracking number.
  • The full scan history, if you switched it on.
  • A link “Open on the [courier] website”.
  • Your support email and phone, under “Questions about your order?”.

If the order has no tracking number yet, the page shows the order’s own state and the line “The tracking number appears here as soon as the parcel is handed to the courier.” The state reads, for example:

Order status in WooCommerce What the customer sees
Pending payment, On hold Waiting for payment confirmation
Processing Being prepared for shipping
Cancelled, Failed Cancelled
Refunded Refunded
Any other The WooCommerce name of the status

If the courier does not answer, the block shows “Handed to the courier” and “The live status is not available right now. Use the link to the courier below.”

The tracking box in order emails carries a signed link. It opens the tracking page with the order already shown, so the customer does not type anything. The link only works for that order.

The customer can type the order number with or without the #. The plugin matches the number shown on the order first, then the order ID, so it also works with sequential order number plugins.

The courier is only asked when someone looks: on the tracking page, the order screen or through an email link. The answer is kept for the time set under Shipments > Settings, in Ask the courier / refresh rate (minutes). The default is 30 minutes. Delivered and returned parcels are kept for a week. Customers refreshing the page do not turn into hundreds of API calls.
