FAQ

From your account with the courier. Each courier screen in the plugin says where to find them, under the form. The list is also on Couriers.

No. They need the email address and the order number, or the link from the order email.

Does it ask the courier on every page view?

Section titled “Does it ask the courier on every page view?”

No. The courier is only asked when someone looks: the tracking page, the order screen or the email link. The answer is kept for the time set under Shipments > Settings, 30 minutes by default, and for a week once the parcel is delivered or returned.

I already use a courier plugin. Does it see those tracking numbers?

Section titled “I already use a courier plugin. Does it see those tracking numbers?”

Yes. It reads the tracking numbers the Sameday and Cargus plugins write on the order, numbers from Advanced Shipment Tracking, and anything typed in the Shipment tracking box on the order screen. Developers can add other order meta keys with the brl_st_legacy_meta filter.

Yes, if it was typed by hand. Tick Remove on save next to it in the order’s Shipment tracking box and save the order. This works even when a courier plugin wrote the same number.

Use Other courier with its public tracking page, so customers still get a working link. To ask for a full integration, see Request a courier.

The tracking page says “Handed to the courier” and no live status

Section titled “The tracking page says “Handed to the courier” and no live status”

The courier did not answer, or the plugin could not read the answer. The page shows a link to the courier’s own tracking page instead. Open the courier under Shipments > All couriers and use Test connection with a real tracking number to see the error.

No. The free plugin only talks to the couriers you switch on, with your own accounts. It has no licence check. The Pro add-on checks its licence and gets updates from brainrune.com.

Can I change the status wording customers see?

Section titled “Can I change the status wording customers see?”

Yes, with the brl_st_status_labels filter. See Statuses.

Does the “Order shipped” email go to old orders?

Section titled “Does the “Order shipped” email go to old orders?”

No. Orders placed before you switch it on never get it, so old tracking numbers do not trigger a late email.

What happens to my data when I delete the plugin?

Section titled “What happens to my data when I delete the plugin?”

Settings stay unless you tick Delete settings and courier accounts when the plugin is deleted under Shipments > Settings. Tracking numbers always stay on the orders: they are part of the order history.

English, Romanian, Bulgarian, Polish, Italian, German, French, Spanish, Czech and Croatian, for the admin, the tracking page and the emails. The plugin language is chosen in the setup wizard and does not change the rest of WordPress.
