Install a Pro plugin

A Pro add-on installs next to the free plugin. You need both: the free plugin from WordPress.org, and the Pro zip from your Brainrune account.

This page uses Category SEO Editor as the example. The steps are the same for other Pro add-ons; only the menu names change.

  • WordPress and WooCommerce are installed and active.
  • You can install plugins on the site (an administrator account).
  • You have your licence key. It is in the email you got after paying, and in your account under Licences.
  1. Install the free plugin. In wp-admin, go to Plugins > Add New, search for the plugin by name, then click Install Now and Activate.

For Category SEO Editor, search for “Category SEO Editor for WooCommerce”. The free plugin is also listed at wordpress.org/plugins/category-seo-editor-for-woocommerce.

  2. Download the Pro zip. Sign in on brainrune.com, open Downloads in your account, and click Download next to the plugin. Keep the file as a zip; do not unpack it.

  3. Upload the Pro zip. In wp-admin, go to Plugins > Add New, click Upload Plugin, choose the zip, then click Install Now.

  4. Activate the Pro plugin. Click Activate Plugin on the screen that follows, or activate it from the Plugins list.

  5. Paste the licence key. Open the plugin’s Licence screen. For Category SEO Editor Pro: Products > Category SEO > Licence. Paste the key into Licence key and click Activate.

The Pro screens turn on as soon as the key is accepted. For Category SEO Editor, the Products & categories and Primary category audit tabs appear next to Category editor.

Each build in Downloads shows a sha256 checksum. You do not have to check it; the plugin installs and works without this. It is there if you want proof the file arrived untouched.

  1. Open Terminal on a Mac or Linux, or PowerShell on Windows.

  2. Go to the folder with the zip, usually cd ~/Downloads.

  3. Run shasum -a 256 plugin.zip with the real file name. On Windows: Get-FileHash plugin.zip.

  4. Compare the result with the checksum in your account. If they match, install it. If they differ, download it again.

The Licence screen shows the reason. The common ones:

If it still fails, open Support in your account and name the plugin, the site and the message.
