Terms

The rules for the site, the plugins and licences, Brainrune Keywords and the work we do for you.

Last updated 24 October 2026

These terms govern your use of brainrune.com, the plugins and licences offered here, the custom work we do for clients, and Brainrune Keywords at keywords.brainrune.com (together, the “Services”). By creating an account, sending us a request or placing an order you accept them. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Cookie Policy.

Who we are

Brainrune builds software for WordPress and WooCommerce and works on online stores for its clients, from Romania. The details of the business appear on every invoice. You can reach us at contact@brainrune.com, and a person answers, usually within one working day.

Your account

One account works for brainrune.com and for Brainrune Keywords. You must be at least 16 to create one or to send us a request. If you buy, the billing details you give must be accurate, because an invoice is issued for every order.

You are responsible for keeping your password or passkey private and for what is done under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend an account that is used to break these terms or the law, and we will tell you why.

Plugins and licences

The free version of every Brainrune plugin is published on WordPress.org under the GPL and stays free.

A Pro licence unlocks the Pro features, updates and support for the number of sites stated on the product page. It is a subscription, paid monthly or yearly, as chosen at checkout. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next payment and the licence keeps working until the end of the period already paid.

When a licence lapses, what happens is stated on the product page before you buy:

  • on a yearly licence, the Pro features keep working on the sites already activated, and updates and support stop until you renew;
  • on a monthly licence, the Pro features switch off at the end of the paid period.

To check a licence, the plugin sends our licence server the licence key, the product name and the address of the site it runs on. Nothing else about your site or your customers is sent.

The plugin code is GPL software and you may use it under that licence. The licence key, the update service and support are what you pay for. A key is personal to your account: you may not share it, resell it or use it to serve sites beyond the number you paid for, and you may not remove or get around the licence check in our distribution.

An Agency licence covers the sites you build or maintain for your clients, up to the number stated on the product page. The key stays in your account: you activate and deactivate client sites yourself. You may not give the key to a client, resell or sublicense it, or sell access to the Pro features as a product of your own. If an Agency licence lapses, every site on it follows the rules above.

Custom work

We also build and maintain WooCommerce stores, write plugins to order and run audits.

  • Quotes. Every project starts with a written offer: what is included, the price, the payment schedule and the timeline. Work starts once you accept it in writing. Anything not in the offer is quoted separately before we do it.
  • What you provide. Texts, product photos, logos, access to accounts and any other material you send must be yours to use. You remain responsible for the content of your store and for the products you sell.
  • Access. If you give us access to your site, hosting or other accounts, we use it only for the agreed work and keep it confidential. Revoke it when the work ends, or ask us to.
  • Ownership. Once the work is paid in full, the site, its content and the code written specifically for you are yours. Third-party themes and plugins stay under their own licences. Our own plugins used in your project stay under the GPL and the terms in section 3.
  • Warranty. For 30 days after delivery we fix, free of charge, any defect in the work we did. After that, fixes and changes are covered by a maintenance plan, if you have one, or quoted separately.
  • Maintenance plans are monthly subscriptions with an invoice, described in the offer: what they include, the response time and the notice period for cancelling.

Brainrune Keywords and credits

Brainrune Keywords is paid for in credits. The cost of each report is shown in the app before you run it. Credits come in packs, land on your account once the order is paid and are valid for the period stated on the pack, 365 days unless the pack says otherwise. The credits that expire first are spent first. Unused credits expire at the end of their validity.

Reopening a report you already ran is free. Running the same keyword again for fresh data costs the same as a new report. If our data provider fails and a report returns nothing, its credits go back to your account automatically.

Reports are built from third-party search data. Search volume, difficulty and cost figures are estimates. We do not guarantee their accuracy, a ranking, a traffic level or an advertising result.

You may use reports and exports for your own business and for your clients. You may not resell access to the app, share your account, scrape the service or drive it with automated tools beyond the exports we provide. We may limit how many reports run at the same time, so the app stays fast for everyone.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in euro, or in lei on Romanian pages, and include VAT where it applies. The price that counts is the one shown at checkout or in the accepted offer. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see your full card details. An invoice is issued for every payment and sent by email.

If a renewal payment fails we tell you by email and try again. If it still fails, the licence lapses as described in section 3.

Refunds and withdrawal

Your right of withdrawal as a consumer, the cases where it does not apply to digital content, and the refunds we give beyond what the law requires are set out in the Refund Policy. Your legal rights when a product is faulty are not affected by anything in these terms.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Services to break the law, to infringe anyone’s rights, to send spam, to attack or overload our systems or anyone else’s, or to try to reach data that is not yours. If you find a security issue, write to us before telling anyone else and we will fix it.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the Services available, but we do not promise that they will run without interruption. We may change a feature or stop offering a product. If we stop offering something you paid for, what happens to the current period and to unused credits is set out in the Refund Policy.

Liability

We are responsible for the damage we cause through our fault, to the extent the law makes us responsible. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit, lost sales or lost data that you could have avoided with a backup. For business customers, our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount paid to us in the 12 months before it. None of this limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including for intent, gross negligence or harm to a person, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we publish the new version here with a new date. If the change matters to a subscription you hold, we email you at least 30 days before it applies. You can cancel before then.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Romanian law. If something goes wrong, write to us first at contact@brainrune.com and we will try to fix it. Consumers may also turn to the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), including its alternative dispute resolution service at anpc.ro, and keep the right to go to the courts of the place where they live. Otherwise the competent Romanian courts decide.
